Our Story

Mwamko Foundation is a Charitable Christian-based organization located in Roysambu area at Kahawa west Soweto slum. It was founded with an aim of caring for the community and those who have been marginalized by the economic and social system being one of our responsibilities as Gods people.

The idea came in after various mentorship programs conducted within Kahawa Soweto slums and its environs in Roysambu area by Madam Milcah Muthoni, the director while still a youth. It sunk its roots deeper when Milcah focused on fighting for children's rights due to cases like rape which had emerged at a high rate. This also played a big role in deepening the community service calling that she had. It begun its operation as a children's center in 2011 and was officially established and registered as Mwamko Foundation CBO in 2013 (KAS/CBO/5/4/2013/181).

Since then, the foundation has significantly grown with various programs inaugurated to curb poverty, illiteracy, unemployment and immoral behaviors within the community. The journey has not been easy but we give credit to our God for his love endures forever. He has made all this happen and we are always grateful for the love, provisions and providence.
